Willoway Nurseries, Inc., 4534 Center Road in Avon, received a $5-million financing package through the Business and Cooperatives Program of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Rural Development division. With the support of its bank (AG Credit), Willoway will fund a greenhouse modernization project that will set the course for the growth of the entire company and its 170 full-time and 300 seasonal employees. The project includes the installation of a biomass boiler, affirming Willoway’s commitment to sustainability and the importance of reducing dependency on fossil fuels. This comes on the heels of Tom Demaline's award as 2005 Nursery Grower of the Year - an award given by his peers.
